One of the most amazing guitar pieces ever

I haven't myself played a guitar yet i.e properly. So i always wondered if i will ever be able to play one with my smallish fingers. But the other night i was drinking nothing else but water when my friend who is an amazing guitarist himself played this piece- Ocean by John Butler Trio on Youtube and I was instantly stoned. I couldn't play that kinda stuff with ten fingers on each hand.

This bugger, he plays that 12 string guitar with such an ease that I feel even more of a waste of space. So after watching the video more closely i found he uses long acrylic fingernails for picking and that comforted me somewhat, not that anyone could do it, but yeah what the heck so what if he plays a 12 string guitar, the wah-wah pedal, the didgeridoo, harmonica...I could do it may be a hundred lives from now when homo sapiens further evolve to species with six limbs and ten fingers on each of them.

I could hardly notice the drummer in Ocean but believe me, the percussionist is mindblowing or as Russell Peters would say mind blasting in 'Better man' live. 'Treat Yo Mama' took me to an amazing trip- one in which i was running with a torch in my hand alone on deserted road hell bent on saving my Mama. 'Peaches and creams' specially the one recorded in the max sessions reminds of all the pleasant things in my life...beautiful song.

John Butler and Mama Kin released recently a studio recording of ‘Losing You’ to help highlight the current situation which sees the pristine Kimberley region under threat from the proposed gas processing precinct at James Price Point, WA. Remains to be seen what his endeavor would achieve but surely he is doing his bit to support the folks out there. Currently they are touring all of Australia and their latest videos can be watched on johnbutlertrio.com

For those who still haven't googled this, stop reading any further and go search John Butler Trio-Ocean on Youtube. If you are still reading then you are probably still hooked on to the Linkin Park (you could go through the rest of the blog and look up for real rock band names and google them for a start).
