ROCK TO ME

Rock to me is the adrenaline rush or sometimes the ultimate solace i get when a multitude of emotions are woven together with authentic usage of rythm and lyrics. The former mostly due to Aerosmith, Kiss, Iron Maiden and the latter mainly due to Pink Floyd, The Doors, Led Zepplin.  The drive of Joe Perry's guitar, Nick Mason's percussion leads me into a tunnel which either has dark reverie at its end or a bright eternal horizon. I delve into my own self even with thousands around me.

I first began listening to any international music regularly when i was 13. Backstreet Boys appealed to me the most. My affair with POP music continued till i was 17.My first brush with rock was, as usual with all kids in my neighberhood, with Linkin Park. To me at that time, when i had no mobile phone & we had no torrents or the money to buy CDs from Planet M and the radio played songs of an eternally capped dickhead, LP's music brought all the instruments together for the first time in way which i felt, at that time they should be(althogh now i despise that very style).

Then started a series of flings with Alternative, Heavy Metal, Death Metal, Punk all which got me to headbang (ultimately resulting in me getting a bad bodyache for atleast two days) but none of the affairs lasted for long except my immortal love for Iron Maiden.

Then came in my life the purveyor of psychedelic - James Douglas Morrison (Jim Morrison) with his Doors. As it was meant to do it unlocked my doors of perception and showed me the true meaning of infinite. It gets me on a  high even without using any other publicly unmentionable influences.

At the same time Aerosmith's "Living on the edge" had my nerves embalmed with classic rock. Aerosmith, Kiss ("Then she Kissed Me" my fav), The Beatles ("Elanor Rigby" My Fav), Led zepplin (Stairway to Heaven & Immigrant song) jostled and made their way into my senses and made me a complete classic junkie.

Live at Pompeii and Pulse are like two jewels in the psychedelic crown that Floyd wears. The first time I heard Saucerful of secrets i saw light at the end of a tunnel. The second time i found myself wandering in an Opium Farm somewhere. It would be, i assume, illegal to even go on psyche-trips like the ones i had with Floyd even without chemically being on a high.

I am quite sure that i shall have many flings with all kinds of rock but nothing will ever sway me away from classic. All i want is to bring all classic lovers together and this blog is just the beginning.
